Event Details

The Borough of Linesville will reach its 200th year in 2024 and our Bicentennial Planning Committee is working diligently to put together an impressive and beautiful celebration. Originally founded by Amos Line with the building of his first mill in 1820. The establishment of a village came in 1824. And for 200 years, Linesville has continued to thrive on the shores of, first Pymatuning Swamp, and now Pymatuning Lake. Linesville came to life at a time when settlements were springing up across Crawford County. Its rich history includes hosting multiple rail lines, both freight and passenger, with the distinction of being exactly 500 miles from Chicago and New York City; hosting one of three Civilian Conservation Corps camps on Pymatuning Lake; serving as the Onion Capital of the World prior to WWII; and now home to the second most visited attraction in Pennsylvania, behind the Liberty Bell, the Spillway.
