"Hail to Thee, Blithe Spirit!" A Comedic Evening with Madame Helides

Join us at Mount Hope: the Baldwin-Reynolds House Museum for a glass of port and hauntingly delicious hors d’oeuvres while Meadville’s own “Madame Helides” leads us in an adventure of the mystical…and hilarious! 

After a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres hour that is reminiscent of something that Vincent Price would welcome you to, we’ll join the museum staff for a short presentation on Victorian mourning and funeral customs. We’ll then welcome “Madame Helides” (portrayed by Joanne Helides) who will tell us someone’s future (we don’t know whose) and help us speak to those beyond… (maybe only beyond the next room…we’re not sure!) Bumbling and hilarious, Madame Helides is our own satire on the famous screen and stage production of a similar name portrayed by everyone from Dames Angela Lansbury to Judi Dench.
