About Bossard Nature Area
The Bossard Nature Trail is designated as a National Recreation Trail in the National Trails System. Nature enthusiasts have the opportunity to make exciting new discoveries on their own or to walk the self-guided nature trail and perhaps stop to observe nature from one of two observation blinds located along the trail. Approximately 1000 feet of the trail’s pathway is paved and is easily accessible. The Bossard Nature Trails are located across the road from the Woodcock Dam. The trail off to the right is about 1.5 miles long and can be strenuous as it takes you down and up over a ravine. The trail off to the left is relatively level and short.
