Old-School Living (In Our Old School)-a comedy by Lisa Clarkin Rawson

Conneaut School District’s Theatre Department will
present their first “Alumni Show” July 10-12 on the Conneaut Area Middle School
stage. “Old-School Living (In Our Old School),” a comedy written by CLHS 1982 alumna
Lisa (Clarkin) Rawson, explores what happens when a few alumni celebrating
their 45^th reunion decide to purchase their old high school, turn it
into condos, and move in. Tickets are general admission seating and cash purchase
at the door for $10/adults and $8/students or senior citizens. Curtain times
are 7 p.m. July 10 & 11 and 2 p.m. July 12.

Director Mary Cunningham Morris has been
directing in the district for 21 years, first at CLHS and then at CASH. When
approached by Rawson in 2025 about performing the show, Morris saw it as an
opportunity to get alumni back on stage. She opened auditions to the alumni she
had, and cast members span graduation years 2005-2025. The production will
serve as a fundraiser for the current Conneaut Area Senior High and Middle
School theatre programs.

“Old-School Living (In Our Old School)” is a heartwarming
comedy that brings former classmates together, allows old flames to rekindle,
and solves a 35-year-old mystery. With tons of “age appropriate” humor, this
show is extra special in the Conneaut area due to inspiration stemming from
local references and events. Although Rawson draws from her own reminiscences, it
is a fictional story steeped in small-town flavor that translates to any
theatre who chooses to perform it. Prior performances have been held domestically
in Erie, Oklahoma City, and Lake Charles, Louisiana, and internationally in
Ontario and Saskatchewan.

When Linda (Elise Sprong ’24), Greg (Jesse
Kruger ’05), Denise (Rebbekagrace Cavanah ’22), and her husband Gary (Joe
Newell ’11) plan their 45^th Snow Water High School reunion, they
learn their beloved high school may be torn down after being suddenly shuttered.
At the reunion, Don Wheeler (Chole Loose ’21) and Barb (Alexa Tompkins ’20)
join in the conversation about how they might save it. The school caretaker,
Sam Wagner (TBA), also a former Snow Water Polar Bear, continues to maintain
his position at the newly formed Snow Water Housing for Seniors as the alumni
navigate their new enterprise. Lawyer Jackie Irving (Lilyonna Lindsey ’25) eventually
brings light to the mysterious donor who made the whole purchase possible.
