Crawford County Holiday Gift Guide

Everything on your list is right here this season!

This year, the holiday may look a little different with Zoom Thanksgiving dinners and canceled Christmas parties. Even though the family may not be coming home for mom’s pies and sled riding in the backyard, you can still give them a piece of Crawford County – while supporting an array of local businesses!

Our region has something for everyone on your list this season – the perfect beer, the coziest sweater, a museum membership, hunting gear, and even a family train ride in 2021! Regardless of how hard Uncle Jeff is to shop for, we’ve got you covered. Here’s our 2020 Crawford County Holiday Gift Guide.

For the Family

Even though we’re all canceling plans in December, now is the perfect time to give experiences to those you love that can be used once life gets back to normal! Crawford County has no shortage of amazing things to do…and many of our local attractions are offering passes and vouchers for next year! The Oil Creek and Titusville Railroad is already planning their 2021 season, with vouchers for train rides that your kids will love. Get tickets for 2021 shows at Meadville’s own Academy Theatre (and catch their Facebook Live Performances in the meantime). For the history lover in your life, grab a family membership for free admission next summer to the nationally significant Baldwin-Reynolds House Museum. Check out these options and more on the Family Activities section of our website.

For the Foodie

Whether you have local family or have to mail a gift, there are plenty of options for the foodie in your life! Twin Pies in Linesville has everything you need for the perfect Christmas, from pies of nearly every variety to candy, gift cards, home goods, and more. Get the gourmet on your list something great from Venango General Store, where you can purchase amazing pickled…well…nearly everything. You’ll also find locally canned and preserved favorites, and even grab a bite of lunch while you’re there. Hunter’s Inn has fantastic sauces and other carryout items to add to your haul. If you need more inspiration, try our extensive list of Crawford County food favorites.

For the Fashionista

No need to look at chain stores online or drive to a big box store – Crawford County’s local clothing shops can help you find that special guy or gal the most comfortable sweater they’ve ever worn. Chateau Christine has a wide selection of ladies’ attire; you can shop from your couch while watching their weekly Tuesday Facebook Live video updates and sales. While you’re there, why not grab a subscription box for that special someone for great items year-round?

For the gentlemen on your list, Harmony Formals has the best selection of ties you can find…and many of them were made right in the shop! Grab a Teddy Roosevelt scented candle (yes…it’s a thing) to socks sporting everyone from Ruth Bader Ginsburg to Bigfoot!

Be sure to stop in the Woolen Mill for sophisticated styles and a shopping experience you’d expect to find in New York City or Chicago! With an extensive list of designers in their collection, you should be able to find the perfect outfit for your family Christmas dinner, whether it’s in person or via Zoom. If these options weren’t enough to satisfy even the most discerning on your list, take a look at other great shopping options in Crawford County.

For the Outdoor Enthusiast

We’ve talked about indoor gifts of all sorts, but what about shopping for the outdoor lover in your life? A season pass to Avalanche Xpress is less than $100 for an entire winter of outdoor fun! Hunters, hikers, and…well…nearly everyone else will find their new favorite winter coat or pair of boots at The Boot Box. They even have a wide variety of jackets and other riding accessories for your favorite motorcyclist. Finally, for the person who has everything – why not help conserve a little bit of the great outdoors through a donation to the French Creek Valley Conservancy in their name? Starting on Small Business Saturday, nationally known Voodoo Brewery is returning their favorite Big Black Voodoo Daddy. BBVD, their seasonal stout, is made with copious amounts of chocolate and roasted malts and topped off with the right amount of hops to make it taste like a chocolate bar au natural. What better gift than a case of 12 oz cans!
