Thurston Classic "Ted Tribute"

This weekend event’s will feature  – weather permitting-  nine balloons launching Friday evening and Saturday morning.  Although this year’s event won’t be the familiar “Thurston” it will be held in remembrance of Ted Watts who lead the Thurston Classic for more than 30 years. Mr. Watts passed away last October due to COVID-19 complications.

The site/s for the balloon launches this weekend will be the pilot’s choice with the hopes to have the balloons fly over Meadville. If the weather cooperates, the Friday evening flight will be at around 7:00 pm and the Saturday morning flight at around 6:00 am. The landing sites will also be at pilot’s discretion.
