With such deep roots in agriculture, farming plays a huge role in Crawford County’s history. Even today, countless farms and dedicated individuals work hard to grow and harvest locally-grown produce. On the Davenport Fruit Farm, take a tour of the farm and try some of their juicy apples and pears, unpasteurized cider, and pre-made cake mixes for baking your own treats. On Saturdays in the summer and fall, you can find them, and many other farmers and growers, at the Meadville Market House. The Market House is always home to products from local vendors and its restaurant, Kettle Lake Kitchen, strives to serve locally-sourced ingredients in their dishes.
You can also stop by the MARC Community Garden to pitch in help with the harvest then take home some food to cook your own local meal.
