On the Road again…. Traveling is long and can
sometimes take a lot out of you! What is the first thing you need
on the road, other than a bathroom break and gas for the car? If
COFFEE was your answer, you landed on the perfect page.
Crawford County is home to several quaint coffee shops. If you
are near the Linesville area, or traveling through, be sure to stop
at Twin Pies. As the name suggest, you can get more than just
coffee here! Just like Grandma's and baked fresh daily, Twin Pies
is home to some of the best pie around. In addition to pies and
coffee, you can also get savory sandwiches from their deli counter
as well. As you travel closer to the center of Crawford County
you would encounter Vacavi Café. Proudly owned by lifelong
Crawford County residents, Vacavi Café is the place to spend
your mornings or early afternoons. Seasonal food features,
yummy treats, and locally sourced products, Vacavi is perfect to
take a break from your road trip and enjoy the view of Conneaut
Lake. Continuing down 'the pike' as the locals might say, brings
you into the center of Crawford County, Meadville, where coffee
shops are not in short supply. French Creek Coffee and Tea
Co., formerly known as Tarot Bean, has expanded up the street to
their beautifully renovated space. Housing not only great made-
to-order coffee and tea beverages, French Creek Coffee and Tea
co. has their roasters in-house, with grand windows so you can
watch the process. You can buy beans to go, or grab some
pastries and head up to their Library for a unique place to work
outside of the office. On lower Chestnut Street, another coffee
shop is JT's SteamTable Restaurant and Catering. In the
summer they feature their Black Cat Alley patio seating that
makes you forget you're in the middle of town. Specializing in
                          southern-flair cooking and in-house flavored coffee, JT's
SteamTable is great for a quick coffee pick-me-up or a casual
lunch stop. If you are traveling around the east side of the county,
one of the coolest local coffee shops is a shop within a shop. The
Mercantile at Towne Square in Titusville, known to us as “the
Merc”, is home to several great shops, including Coffee Days.
Coffee Day's has a great selection of made-to-order coffee drinks
with different flavors, a variety of smoothies, and one of the only
locations in Crawford County to make Açai Bowls. These Açai
bowls can make you forget that you are on the East Coast of the
country and are on my “must visit” list when I am on the east side
of the county. Any of these locally owned and operated coffee
shops will be exactly what your road trip, or morning routine
needs. The best part of these coffee shops is that they all feature
something different inside the shop so why not visit all of them?!
