Summer in Crawford County
Sunny days and plenty of ways to soak up every minute of warmth.
The winters in Northwest Pennsylvania are long and often brutal, but once summer arrives with all of its bright, sunny days and plenty of ways to soak up every minute of warmth, all of those cold nights become worth it. Crawford Country celebrates summer to the fullest with lush golf courses, festivals and fairs, and wine and beer tastings galore. The Conneaut Festival of the Arts features a variety of local artists every July so you can discover your new favorite piece of jewelry or handmade home decor. Crawford County is also the home of the largest agricultural fair east of the Mississippi every August. The fair has much more than just agriculture to experience though! Visitors can play games, listen to live music, and even experience the Demolition Derby. Pair a day at the fair with the Thurston Classic Hot Air Balloon Event to finish off a long summer night.
If you’re eager to quench your thirst during all of the heat, don’t miss the Good Vibes Beer Fest held by VooDoo Brewery in Meadville. The festival kicked off successfully in 2018 with laid-back music, delicious local food, and the best craft beer selection the world has to offer. Some of the best Crawford County experiences can be head in the summer, so don’t miss out!
Boat cruises on Conneaut Lake. The largest natural glacier lake in Pennsylvania. This timeless sternwheeler is also available for private parties, reunions, group tours, student field trips and more.
Built on the backbone of our farmers, townsfolk, and various organizations our fair strives to provide the best in family fun during the summer: fireworks, games, animals, a parade, bands, home show exhibits, rides for the kids, and (of course) fair food! Bring your family and catch up with old friends and even make some new friends!
We make fresh vanilla and chocolate custard everyday, as well as a "Flavor of the day" for custard and sherbet. Take some home in our pre-packed pints (flavors may vary depending on stock)!
A working farm that turns into a Fall Festival filled with attractions for every age. From the 8 acre corn maze, hay wagon rides, slide mountain, pedal carts, apple cannons and so much more.
The Thurston Classic Hot Air Balloon Event takes place each year over Father's Day weekend. Check our website for more information.
