Farms and Gardens in Crawford C0unty
Grow strong and grow together in Crawford County.
Crawford County is a community that thrives on the hard work and support of its residents, so we shop and eat locally grown food as much we can. The Davenport Fruit Farm is open on weekends through the winter, and summer hours from May through November. Take a tour of the farm and try some of their juicy apples and pears, unpasteurized cider, and pre-made cake mixes for baking your own treats. On Saturdays in the fall, you can find them at the Meadville Market House. The Market House is always home to products from local vendors and delicious daily breakfast and lunch specials served at The Market Grille.
You can also stop by the MARC Community Garden to pitch in help with the harvest then take home some food to cook your own local meal.
Al's Melons Farm Market is a locally owned and operated retail farm market and greenhouse business. Al's is especially fun in the fall with a full corn maze and lots of pumpkins to choose from for the kids!
Howles Family Maple Products is a small family owned business/hobby. We produce maple syrup from neighboring trees at our sugarhouse behind the Howles homestead. Sugaring has been in our family for five known generations. We manage around 3000 taps each year, a combination of tubing & buckets.
The Hurry Hill Maple Farm Association has developed wonderful experiences for visitors–children, families, sugar makers or anyone curious about nature’s pure product. The maple sugaring process, natural and cultural history, lore and legend are on display with entertaining events, educational activities and exhibits.
A working farm that turns into a Fall Festival filled with attractions for every age. From the 8 acre corn maze, hay wagon rides, slide mountain, pedal carts, apple cannons and so much more.
